Welcome to the Novi Middle School Orchestra!
We strive for excellence with all of our students. Our program has over 150 students in 7th and 8th grade that take part in one of our 5 scheduled ensembles. We are a class A school according to the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association. Our ensembles perform many concerts throughout the school year, including concerts at our school, local venues, MSBOA Festivals and Music in the Parks Festivals. Students in our program have a family oriented approach to our classroom atmosphere. Students coming into the program are at many different levels of playing ability. Our goal is to take each student and educate them to reach their full potential as a musician and student. There are many opportunities available throughout the year for students to take part in various musical experiences and grow as musicians and music appreciators. Students will develop their skills and technique on a string instrument, learn many styles of music, music history, and theory.

PARENT HELP IS NEEDED!
- Photographers: Take group photos, photos during concerts, photos of students learning in the classroom.
- Concert Help: Check students in, hand out programs, collect money in donations.
- Chaperones: Attend field trips, concerts, and other events and help students.
- Fundraisers: Various levels of commitment: Handle money, product pick up days, organizing events.
PUBLICITY:
Now more than ever it is necessary to show the public how important arts education is in our community. Parents who volunteer to help with publicity will be in charge of contacting newspapers and other public venues to inform them of the great things that are happening in our music program. This is especially important during festivals (Solo and Ensemble and District Orchestra/Band), concerts, and trips. Invitations to our performances also must be mailed to Board of Education members and Administrative Staff at Central Office.
